Programme : The Lappetites 2.12. 2008 Josef (Maria) Berlin /Germany Part I - from _Before The Libretto The record "Before The Libretto" was released with Quecksilber in 2005. 2 pieces were chosen to be performed. 1. Funeral Part II - Fathers - excerpts for an opera for 2009 from the Lappetites "Fathers" is a 21st century opera made by the Lappetites from their different perspectives of different lives through their individual styles acousmatic composition, moving image and local male opera singers. From researching the lives of their fathers, a high ranking officer in the East German Army, an English arable farmer born on the land he still works, and a Business man original from Korea raising a family in Japan, the Lappetites present a rich and melodic drama through voice, video and audio processing. 1. Overture 2 2. Solo Ryoko: Takeo Nemoto  I video-recorded my father when he had a dinner with his younger brother and his mum, who turned into 95 this years-old this year. I used his voice in the video, that tells us `what the family means to him.`. such strong care was shown in what he has said. I recorded one old nursery song on piano, `Hurusato` (the birthplace), for the video, Later on,i asked his favourite songs and he mentioned the same song that was very interesting. 3. Solo AGF: Hans-JŸrgen Greie  I interviewed my father 2 times for this project, one in my vocal recording studio in Berlin, one day we traveled through Berlin and visited historical places. For this performance i use sound sources of this interviews and deconstruction sounds of the "Rip apart" of the Palast der Republik. Most of our contents were about the fall out of "communism" and what that means to him, us and the world and if times considerations if different society structures has changed his personality and principles. 4. Solo Kaffe Matthews: Richard Matthews  Dad's life is based on the land he was born on, that his fathers were born on, that he still works. An endless round of seasons, watching the weather and patterns of growth and decay. He says he couldn't live anywhere else. 5.
